Shabbat
We meet the second and fourth Shabbat mornings of each month at 9:15am. We also meet the third Friday night of each month. For detailed information on location and Friday night times, please see our Calendar.
Holidays
We meet for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Simchat Torah morning, Purim night, one morning of Pesach, and the second day of Shavuot.
Children's Programming
Minyan Tehillah offers two children’s services each morning that we meet, one for ages 0-3, one for ages 4-8. The service for the younger children lasts about 15 minutes, and includes a lot of singing, some tefilot (prayers), a story and kiddush. The older children meet for about 45 minutes, and work their way through the order of Shabbat tefilot with spirited singing and parashat hashavua (weekly Torah portion) time. Both services start when the Haftorah starts and are parent led. If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact kids@minyantehillah.org.
Educational Programming
Our education committee is responsible for organizing the divrai Torah (words of Torah) we have each Shabbat morning, our meal and learn events, and occasional other learning events, which include Sunday morning brunches with classes. The divrai Torah are given by members of the minyan and are brief, 5 minute meditations on topics ranging from the parsha (weekly Torah portion) or an upcoming holiday to current events or even opera. Our goal is to have either a lunch n' learn or dinner n' dvar every month, alternating between the two. These are pot luck meals followed by 50 minute classes taught either by visiting or local scholars. Our Sunday morning brunches are usually offered in conjunction with a class taught by someone recruiting for a yeshiva or other learning program, and food is provided. If you are interested in teaching at a Minyan Tehillah event, please contact education@minyantehillah.org.
